Star Wars Rebels Characters to Appear in Episode VII / Boba Fett in Rebels

During a convention sponsored by MovieCriclet.com in Burnley, Lanchashire for Star Wars Day, actor John Morton was in attendance and offered up some interesting information.  Morton, who played Dak Ralter in “The Empire Strikes Back”, spoke to the website and said the characters, story lines and direction of Star Wars Rebels but will directly shape at least some of the events and characters in Episode VII.

“Rebels is the key. Rebels will provide the link to bring in the continuity from Clone Wars, the Original Trilogy and the Prequels to enable LucasFilm and Disney to tee-up ‘Episode VII’. If you want my informed opinion, it will enable ‘Episode VII’ to leapfrog over the whole trilogy.” “The key that is going to make this work is Rebels. Rebels will set up and point the direction for ‘Episode VII’.” Morton said. He then added that “The characters they are creating in Rebels will be around in ‘Episode VII’.”

It should also be noted that Simon Kinberg, who is helping to oversee work on the sequel trilogy and spinoffs, is also working with the Rebels writing staff.

If that wasn't enough... Ain't It Cool News is also reporting that John Morton is also in Star Wars Rebels voicing BOBA FETT.

Now, one could already say that the continuity in Rebels will tie into Episode VII simply because Rebels is "official canon", so it isn't all that suprising that there will be themes and ties in the upcoming films that would spring from seeds planted in Rebels. "From a certain point of view".
