Daisy Ridley : Royal Action Hero

It took one black and white photograph and the announcement the galaxy has been waiting for to introduce the world to Daisy Ridley. Daisy and the rest of the cast for the next Star Wars movie were revealed, and subsequently broke the internet. People began hitting Google and IMDB to find out all they could concerning the newly announced cast members, and what they found wasn’t a lot when it came to Daisy Ridley. Only a handful of British television appearances and a few roles in smaller movies.

Although nothing has been confirmed  as to who any of the new cast members are playing in Episode VII, it is widely believed that Ridley is playing the daughter of Han Solo and Princess Leia. Besides the much analyzed  seating arrangement in the announcement photo from the table read, Ridley’s father, Chris gave a little more on his daughter’s first step towards a larger world.

This from Mirror.uk.co :

Her father, Chris thinks his daughter is the perfect choice to play a character who is half-royalty, half-action hero.

“She is an extraordinary lady, though not an easy one,” he said at the family home in Maida Vale, West London, yesterday.

“But if anyone can handle it, she can. They train from morning till night learning all the things they do.  They have a huge stage down at Pinewood with thousands of people involved and budget of God knows what. She’s managing very well but she’s very tired. They take out an option on you, they sign you and narrow it down. There are various stages,” he revealed. “Then it goes the other way and there is a result. But I’ve been sworn to secrecy.”

He said film-makers Disney, who have taken over the Star Wars franchise from its original creator George Lucas, are “terribly protective and everything is shrouded in dust sheets. They don’t want to let anything out”.

And with any new job your daughter would get, a father wants to know if she is getting along with her “co-workers”

“She came home and said she’d had coffee with Harrison Ford and he said, ‘Don’t call me Mr. Ford! Call me Harrison’,” said Chris.  “He’s a very sweet guy, though he looks terribly grumpy. She said he looks much better than he does in films and he’s a much nicer guy.”

Welcome to the family Daisy Ridley. You now have the most passionate fans in the galaxy.
