The Goldbergs' May The Fourth Star Wars Special : First Look

Adam F. Goldberg, creater of "The Goldbergs" and co-writer of "Fanboys" has no issue with letting his geek flag fly.  As part of the "May the Fouth" celebration of all things Star Wars. Goldberg has something special planned for his TV family. TV Guide has a first look at the episode airing May 6th, 2014 on ABC.

The Force is with him! The Goldbergs creator Adam F. Goldberg, a lifelong Star Wars nut, will flash back to the 1983 release of Star Wars: Episode VI — Return of the Jedi for the sitcom's May 6 episode (9/8c, ABC). The plot has young Adam (Sean Giambrone) blackmailing his sister, Erica (Hayley Orrantia), to wait in line with him on opening day of the movie, where they meet a bunch of costumed fans including guest star Thomas Lennon.

"When I was nine, I got my head stuck in a bucket trying to be Darth Vader," Goldberg says. "Like most kids of the '80s, I was obsessed. But I never thought I'd grow up to say I owe my entire career to those movies. It began when I wrote the cult movie Fanboys and, to this day, I always do an epic Star Wars homage in all of my projects."
However, The Goldbergs — based on the exec's own real-life wonder years — is an "incredibly personal show so I had to pull out all the stops. That meant putting Thomas Lennon on stilts in a 9-foot tauntaun costume — that I own! — and making Hayley Orrantia wear cinnamon buns for Princess Leia hair. Life is good."

"The Big Bang Theory" on CBS is also doing a "May the Fourth" episode on May 1st. More on that to come
